Building Brighter Futures Through Education and Skills Training
Across Africa, millions of children grow up with dreams for their future. They want to learn, grow, and contribute to their communities. Yet for many families, the financial barriers to education can make those dreams difficult to achieve.
Since 2006, Develop Africa has worked to bridge that gap.
Through education sponsorship, computer training programs, and community partnerships, Develop Africa helps children and youth gain access to the tools they need to succeed. The goal is simple but powerful: equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to build a better future.
Education opens doors that would otherwise remain closed.
For many students, even small resources can make a major difference. A set of textbooks, access to a computer lab, or support with school fees can determine whether a student continues their education or leaves school early.
Beyond formal education, Develop Africa also provides opportunities for practical skills training that help young people prepare for real-world careers.
Stories of Opportunity

The impact of this work can be seen through the students themselves.
Isata is one example. In the past, she sold coal to support herself. With the help of Develop Africa, she was able to stay in school and complete her high school education. Today, she is building new skills through vocational training, preparing to pursue opportunities in catering and cosmetology.
Joseph’s journey highlights another path made possible through access to training. After attending Develop Africa’s computer classes, he gained skills that helped him start a small desktop publishing business. Today, he uses those skills to provide services in his community while also helping others learn computer skills.
Stories like these show what can happen when young people are allowed to learn.
Listen to Isata and Joseph share how Develop Africa has helped change their lives in the video below.
