Our goal is to ensure that each girl, based on aptitude / interest, will become computer proficient. We believe this is a skill that will be beneficial to the girl - independent of the girl's chosen career path.
We will provide basic computer training to ensure the girls can use computers with proficiency and confidence.
After the girls are computer proficient, each girl will take a web-based computer-based "Initial Assessment" in Maths and English. This results of the test comes out in four levels
- iron - (< 25%) in the assessment test. This shows a learner with a level equivalent to a primary school pupil between the ages 7 and 9.
- bronze (30 - 50%) . This shows a learner with a level equivalent to a primary school pupil between the ages 9 and 11. Common Entrance.
- silver (55 - 75%) - This shows a learner with a level equivalent to a junior secondary school pupil with BECE
- gold (80 - 100%) - This shows a learner with a level equivalent to a senior secondary level (SS1/2).
The results of this assessment will help guide further training.
Each computer has access to a networked server loaded with training videos. Each girl will be provided with a learning path to further strengthen their overall competence and educational foundation.
